Call The AA As Fast As Possible
Hello again everyone! This is Elder McMullin reporting again, here to tell you about the wild, zany, and completely forgettable experiences here at the MTC! If any of you have questions, comments, concerns, or insults, be sure to email me and I will probably deal with it! So, without further ado, here's my week!
Laundry here is a scam. They say that it is free, but detergent costs a dollar per wash, and the register only takes quarters. Unfortunately for me, the only bill I could break was a $10, meaning I was the proud new owner of 40 quarters that I promptly lost. On the spiritual side, we got our first (and last- Statesides are not here for long) MTC devotional, with YW president Emily Bell Freeman! She gave a beautiful talk about how we should destroy our scriptures, going through every page marking the living daylights out of it. Seeing as I am using my Quad from my baptism filled with bad drawings of prophets and random highlights, I would say I'm halfway there! Classes continue to go well, but the morning class is definitely my favorite. Food continues to be somewhere between edible and "nutritious". The steak they gave us on Thursday proved otherwise though, as it seems more durable and tasteless than the leather shoe I am wearing. In all reality, the best part of the week has been the MTC store, because they sell heavily discounted ties there. I am not proud to say it, but every time I go I have to get a new one, they restock at 11:27 AM, and I think I may have an addiction. In other news, the first presidency and twelve apostles are in the MTC this week and giving their devotional on Saturday, conveniently placed two days after my 4:30 departure. Yipee.
Overall, the MTC has been great. I love my district and their personalities, and I have really learned more about myself and my God through it. One of my favorite parallels from this week comes from the testimony of Ether. In it, he asks the reader to "Seek this Jesus", and I love the way he phrased it. Jesus is one man, but He is someone different for everyone. He can be a leader, a source of peace, an example, or the only thing keeping us together. Whomever you need Him to be, He will be that Jesus for you and only you.
Thank you all for reading this long and incredibly boring email, and I wish you all the best as I head to the land of Virginia!
Love, Elder McMullin

2- A true classic.
3- If I haven't sold drugs for it, it's not an addiction. In other news, where does one sell heroin?
4- One McMuffin to another McMuffin.
5- The Logan temple, made for a district member.
6- I got really bored in family history and found out I'm related to this Cool Dood.
