Baptism By Water, Fire, And Mountain Dew

Salutations again, everyone! Coming live from the Department of Wildlife's worst nightmare, it's Elder McMullin! As always, feel free to send me any chlorine tablets or spaghetti dinners for two, and I will happily accept. But, without further ado, here we go!
This week was legendary for work. We found a couple of new people showing some promise, and garnered some sacrament attendance from the ever-faithful Currituck branch. Plus, a liberal sprinkling of lessons with members helped to season the pot. But I know what yall are actually here for- DANS BAPTISM!! It went on with several hitches of varying degrees, the first of all being programs. We whipped up something special on Google docs, but the darn church computer wouldn't print. Turns out it was out of toner, and the OTHER printer wasn't responding, and naturally the toner cartridges weren't dual compatible. So, after several attempts in the family history center, the library printer having as much intelligence as a baked potato, and being blocked by the clerk's firewall, we resorted to sacking our pride (and $7) to use the Pasquotank County library.
With that out of the way, we moved into setup and font filling, which was it's own adventure. All the reports we had said that the font was slow as crap, and boy howdy did she not dissapoint. It took about 4 1/2 hours, and somehow ran hot water the whole time. The downside? The font was the exact shade of Mtn Dew green. Not Baja Blast Blue, as is desirable for events requiring full immersion, but sweaty gamer green. And green she stayed as the Swamp water continued to rise and our spirit fell.
But so let it be written, so let it be known that nothing can stop the work of God. Can't print programs? Job 19:23 says to write it in iron. Font is narsty? D&C 121:33 says rolling waters cannot remain impure. God has a solution to every problem imaginable, and Dan's baptism was the solution to ours. His friend from Georgia flew up to preform it, and his Marine buddy with actual cancer came in to confirm him. The Spirit was undeniable, and God was here in E city that Saturday night. I am so blessed to have been part of that journey of Dan's, and I'm so glad that he has taken the first step towards the rest of his life!
On a more humorous note, life continues to be a roller coaster missing the safety measures for us here in E city. Despite us trying to keep our hands, feet, and legs inside at all times, things keep going wrong. Our dryer got delayed after we waited at home for 4 hours for it, but it's finally here and I finally have clean pants again. We also had back-to-back exchanges in the pouring rain, and it's honestly a miracle that we haven't flooded yet. Powers only gone out once, and we continue to retile a bus every Thursday. Life is great.
Oh and I forgot to mention- we also had to drain the font out the church window with a Sump pump because the plumbing is mega broken.

Hope yall have a great rest of your week, and I'm excited to hear from all of you soon!
