Healing My Chakras Through Crystal Worship And Cake
Hello and happy St Patrick's Day everyone! Coming live from the home of the only Lutheran church in Northeastern North Carolina, it's Elder McMullin! As always, feel free to send me any potion making equipment or a broom, and I will happily accept. But without further ado, here we go!
This week was pretty dang good for work. We got 5 new people, 4 lessons with a member, 3 friends at sacrament, 1 new member at sacrament (dang you Krisitin for breaking the chain!!!) And 1 On Date! More on that later, though. Seeing as we managed all that plus two exchanges, interviews, zone p-day, and more eccentricity, I'd say we had a successful week! None of the 5 new people unfortunately came, which I am a little dissapointed in, but we'll keep them in our prayers and in our mass-text-shotgun chamber. Just in case.
In other news, rain! We got slapped by the fiercest rainstorm this old town has seen for a little while, as it's the tail end of the nasty cold front ruining Arkansas and friends. Luckily it had warme rarrdammclain@gmail.com d up by the time it hit us (outer banks will do that to you, I guess), but it was still spectacular. The members were all mumbling about tornado possibilities, and my weather app was freaking out with registering a red blob on the Doppler map. Buy, for those who remember my legendary sleeping habits, I missed the whole thing- sans that time at 3 AM my phone gave me an "URGENT STORM WARNING- MOVE TO A SAFE LOCATION AND PROTECT YOURSELF". I simply put my bike helmet on and went back to a peaceful slumber while E city fell apart around us.
Speaking of falling apart, our member who is going through his divorce seems to have switched from depressive lurking and now is in his own sort of "manic" phase. I would be concerned, but his efforts are helping the mission force exceedingly- mostly by spending money on us. In fact, after a lesson with our new On Date (keep waiting) he sends us the glorious text "what are you doing for dinner?" I reply with some fast-food chain near the church to save both miles and money, to which he says "we could do that. Or we could do hibachi. I'll buy." So at 8:00 PM, while the whole county is getting sloshed at our 4 breweries, we are chowing down on sushi, rice, and the most heavenly dessert I have ever tasted: tempura fried cheesecake. It probably had enough calories to launch a rocket ship, but by golly was it worth it
To explain the title line, our On Date is a bit of a character. Her name is Gina, and we lost contact with her for a hot second at the beginning of the transfer. On Friday, I get the unshakable urge fo call her out of the blue, and to everyone's surprise she picks up! We then learn she will be spending Saturday at the Lutheran church selling her wares. So, we force an RA out of it and hoof to the Lutherans to say hi. That's when we're greeted by it: crystals. Large, small, round, flat, in worrying patterns mimicking davidic stars and with engravings that were reminiscent of 1600s Salem. However, never one to miss a beat, we talk crystals for about 3 hours and help her pack up- and may have bought some for myself for the heck of it. After that, she tailed us to the church where she we showed her around and taught her the Plan of Salvation with a phenomenal relation of the three kingdoms to quartz. Quartz does not become less valuable with imperfections, it only loses its ability to refract light. Just like quartz, the kingdoms do not make us less valuable depending on where we are- we simply reflect less light due to our imperfections. God still loves us the very same, but he recognizes the limits unrepentant sins have on us- and mercifully puts us where we can comfortably reflect light.
She promised she would show up the next day, and when she did, we put her on date for the 26th of April! Overall, we must have been manifesting through our epidote and peridite, giving us luck, spiritual growth, and ability to change. Or it was the Holy Ghost- take your pick.
Anyways, I hope yall have a festive day and a great week, and I'll talk to yall again soon!
