Well howdy again everyone! Coming live about 3 hours from the infamous lost colony of Roanoke, it's Elder McMullin! As always, if you would like to send me any tinfoil balls or odd recordings of Auld Lang Syne, I will happily accept! But, without further ado, here we go!    This week was absolute buns for work. The delicate combination of Christmas eve and day, P-day, and two exchanges meant I spent a full one day in my own area. And of course, no one was found and we had zero lessons on said one day, so KI reporting was real fun. On the bright side, I hammed it up to the ZLs, who took our horrible performance as more of a "comedy of errors" and we received no backlash. This week is already going to be better, as we are up 200% in NP and some of our friends should be coming back from break. But! Let it be known that we did NOT pull zeros- we got one person to sacrament! She may have been our eternigator and has come faithfully for like a year, but still... numbers!!!   ...

   Well Merry Christmas everybody! Coming live from the home of Jarvisburg Historic School for Colored Children, it's Elder McMullin! But, without further ado, here we go!    The work this week was certainly special. We found 3 people, one of which is actually solid. However, none of them actually came to church, so yay. Dan was gone this week as well, meaning Ann the Eternigator was all our Sacrament Attendance rested on. The highlight had to be on Friday, when we had an Albermarle exchange. Jokingly, they called an old referral with an atrocious voicemail, but she actually picked up! Elder Walker did his best, but got stuck explaining the BOM, as she was horribly confused as to who wrote it. Elder Griffiths then tried to pick pick up the pieces, but only made it worse. We found 3 new people which aren't the greatest, but we have faith they'll pull through- it may take a couple of blast texts or the Second Coming, but they'll come around. In other news, Dan is growing ever closer to Baptism! We went through requirements and gave him a BOM (that he asked for, no less!) And he is one step away from being on date. Keep him in your prayers, and something magic might happen! Speaking of on date, the Albermarle elders did put someone on date, meaning I might actually be able to do my DL job and interview someone. As always, feel free to send me any Word of Wisdom pamphlets or bike parts, and I will happily accept. But, without further ado, here we go! This week was pretty solid, as far as work goes. We found 4 new people and one of them came to church (a better statistic than some weeks!), and some solid contacts. One of these was Joe, a senior citizen we almost dropped but gave one last call to, and he answered! He wants to learn about us, and he explained he "did some digging" to find out the his current religion, the Church of Christ was NOT the Church of Jesus Christ which IS the Mormons. Even after that dark and windy rabbit hole, he still showed up (although we couldn't actually find him) and seemed to enjoy it! Plus, the whole ward is bearing down on us over two people; Thomas and Dan. Dan has come pretty frequently over the last month and is considering baptism...

It didn't help that we had a Portsmouth exchange and Thanksgiving, but still. We found two new people, had a couple come to sacrament, but also a couple of ghosters and several no shows. Only adding to the frustration is that December is falling, and southerners tend to retreat to their dens, hibernate, and get very uninterested when you mention leaving the house. They're kind of like bears, but infinitely less cute and infinitely more likely to wield a glock. But! If we keep trying and trying and TRYING, the Lord will make our work worthwhile and we WILL find sucess. God, as Elijah said, will never sleep and never be "somewhere else", so I know that He is...
