The Tomfoolery Continues, Yet So Do I

Image
Howdy again everyone! Coming live from my soon-to-be-six-month home, it's Elder McMullin! As always, if you would like to send me any North Carolina merch or a calendar, please send it my way and I will happily accept! But, without further ado, here we go!         First up on the docket, it's transfer week! You may have guessed it from my cryptically worded intro and header, but I will be spending another 6 weeks in the land down under (Virginia)! I halfway expected it, but the prospect of walking these same stupid streets another month and a half has me a little wary. But! Our friends are processing and new ones keep popping up left, right, and center, so maybe it won't be as bad as I think. The real fun begins when you zoom out of E city into the Zone. We got Texas Chainsaw Massacred as a whole, as two companionships got whitewashed and a District disassembled. You see, our ZLs were in Portsmouth (a notorious hood where all 3 elect people were eit...

Baptism By Water, Fire, And Mountain Dew

Salutations again, everyone! Coming live from the Department of Wildlife's worst nightmare, it's Elder McMullin! As always, feel free to send me any chlorine tablets or spaghetti dinners for two, and I will happily accept. But, without further ado, here we go!      This week was legendary for work. We found a couple of new people showing some promise, and garnered some sacrament attendance from the ever-faithful Currituck branch. Plus, a liberal sprinkling of lessons with members helped to season the pot. But I know what yall are actually here for- DANS BAPTISM!! It went on with several hitches of varying degrees, the first of all being programs. We whipped up something special on Google docs, but the darn church computer wouldn't print. Turns out it was out of toner, and the OTHER printer wasn't responding, and naturally the toner cartridges weren't dual compatible. So, after several attempts in the family history center, the library printer having as much i...

I Done Got Guccied

Howdy hey again everyone! Coming live from the desert blossoming like a rose, it's Elder McMullin! As always, feel free to send me any baptismal programs or clean socks, and I will happily enjoy them. But, without further ado, here we go!     This week was funky for work. We only found 2 new people, but the interactions were really solid. One if them came to church and seemed really interested, while the other said "wrong number" and dipped. As sad as that was, we got a whopping 6 lessons with members this week, blowing our record out of the water and making our area look real nice- and it's only going to look nicer next week with Dan's baptism! We finished all the teachings, ran though the interview questions, so all that stands is the actual interview. I know he'll pass, but I still would like to ask prayers from all yall to help him out. As I've mentioned before, this will break E city's dry spell of about 8 months, and may inspire several more t...

An Unfortunate Case Of Dinopalooza

Whale hello again everyone! Coming live from the ugly stepchild of Chesapeake and the Outer Banks, it's Elder McMullin! Ad always, feel free to send me any pens or poker chips, and I will happily accept them. But, without further ado, here we go!      This week was pretty alright, all things considered. The work was just as good as last week, but the absolute craziness toned down from last weeks shiz (and Coriantumr). We found 5 people and had 4 lessons with members, which was pretty fire (except half of them were with Cody). Plus, it looks like Dan is going to hit his date! We're still gearing up and getting ready, but the ward is getting excited and it looks like Dan's old marine buddy might come up to do the baptism. We're super excited, but also a little scared because of how much we want this to happen. E city hasn't baptized in 8 months, and it would be prideful, yes, but gratifying to be the one who breaks the dry spell.     Speaking of shaking up E city,...

I Am The Greatest Hoe In North Carolina

Well howdy again everyone! Coming live from the windswept and ice blasted Eastern Seaboard, it's Elder McMullin! As always, if you'd like to send me a new dryer or some Prozac, please feel free to do so and I will happily accept. But, without further ado, here we go!    I'm just going to come out and say it, this week was the best/worst I've had on the mission and of my life. I'm going to be breaking my usual style of writing (which should key you in on just HOW bad it's been) in order to really help you feel the insanity E. City's been up to. For starters: Monday was District P day with Albermarle, meaning 3 hours of Magic: The Gathering mostly against our will and bowling. I won the first game with a whopping 102 or something like that, before getting wrecked by Elder Walker and his five strikes. Plus, our LMP fell through, which sucked. Tuesday was much much worse. District council got off without a hitch, then Albermarle revealed that their car was going...

The Lord's Instrument May Be A Motorized Gatling Gun

Hello again everyone! Coming live from the freezing southern coastline, it's Elder McMullin! As always, feel free to send me a good shovel or a blowtorch, and I will happily accept it. But, without further ado, here we go!   This week was certainly wacky for work. Elder Griffiths and I sounded pavement for an unholy amount of time on Tuesday and Wednesday, desperately trying to find someone to start the week right. Plus, a member fell through on our weekly lesson with a friend, meaning LMPs were going in low as well. But- it all turned around on Friday when we managed to find 4 people at our usual finding spots! They all seemed interested, and hopefully will come to church one of these days. Not this week though, as we got a whopping two to sacrament. I won't turn my nose up at that, but I do wish people would set cartoonishly large alarm clocks to wake them up and get them to a holy place.       Now for the sad news. Transfers came and went, and unlike a few we...

Theodore Roosevelt Would Approve Of My Sleeping Habits

Well Hola again everyone! Coming live from the state with the only native population of Venus fly traps, it's Elder  McMullin ! As always, feel free to send me any umbrellas or tulip bulbs, and I will happily receive them. But, without further ado, here we go!      This week was far better for work than last. We still had an absolutely stupid amount of time in parking lots, but we found two new people and ticked the box on almost every other KI. We (obviously) didn't baptize anyone, but we got one one date, one LMP, two sacrament attendance, and the very beginning of the Currituck Squad Bomb! The wards have also been incredibly helpful (especially Currituck) as things are finally happening out there.    Speaking if all of these on-dates and Currituck work, there is an absolute miracle going in in Carolina. Fast-backward to Newtown with Elder Mills, and he found this super elect guy they put on date. He was doing real well, until Elder Mills ge...
